JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Coming off back to back losses the Lady Cougars hosted the Cougars of Northview on Thursday night.  From the beginning of the match Campbell County was on the attack and didn’t let up until the final whistle was blown.  See Amber’s full photo gallery HERE on demand.

With multiple shots on goal, Campbell County was able to find the back of the net with Jessa Riggs scoring during the first half.  Due to injury, the regular goal keeper, Kylie Ivey found herself as a forward and Jordan Asher in the goal.  Kylie decided to take the opportunity of having room to run to score the second goal of the match off a cross from teammate and sister Zaylyn Ivey to make the score 2-0 at the half.

Freshman Jessa Riggs was able to score against the Lady Cougars of Northview.

The second half found Campbell County relentless with the pressure on Northview.  Kylie Ivey was able to add a second goal to her belt midway through the second half.  Campbell County stayed on offense most of the game with the defense clearing any ball that came their way and sending it up to the waiting forwards.  To round out the match, Sage Elwin who had many shots on goal as well as several corner kicks finally found the back of the net to leave the score 4-0 at the closing whistle.

Sisters, Zaylyn Ivey and Kylie Ivey make a dynamic duo for the Lady Cougars.

The Lady Cougars have three games next week. Monday is a JV only game at J. Frank White Academy, Tuesday CCHS hosts Union County and Thursday the squad travels to battle the Mavericks of Anderson County. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/09/2022-6AM)
