Curtis “Curt” Eugene Jessie, age 69 of LaFollette, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. He was born on October 29, 1953 to the late Earnest Casper Jessie and Hilda (Day) Jessie. Curtis was a former Sergeant with the City of LaFollette Police Department, former detective with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department, a lifetime member of the LaFollette Rescue Squad, and a member of the Campbell County Rural Fire Service. He also loved fishing,  deer hunting, camping, and moonshining.   

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Mike Jessie; sisters Joyce Fletcher, Joann Edwards, and Carolyn Melton; and brothers Earl Jessie and Ray Jessie.

He is survived by his son Christopher Jessie of Knoxville; daughter-in-law Lynn Jessie of LaFollette; grandchildren Katelyn Jessie, Aerielle Hickman, and Ethan Gosnell; great grandchildren Kyia, Dominic, and Zayne; brother Arvil Jessie of North Carolina; sister Dorothy Turley of Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Curtis’s wishes were to be cremated.

The family has entrusted the care of Curtis Eugene Jessie to Martin Wilson Funeral Home “Where Families Matter Most.”

    1. This is so so sad. I have known this man since I was 16 and he was a great influence to my life and the career I chose. R.I.P. Curt!
