JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Life Scout Macy Kibler with BSA Troop 435 completed phase one of getting approval to begin her Eagle Scout Project by attending the Campbell County Building and Grounds Committee Meeting Thursday evening.

After completion of her Eagle Scout requirements, Macy will be the first Eagle Scout for Troop 435. She is also the first female BSA Scout in Campbell County as well.

Macy presented her plans for the purchase and installation of an American Flag Retirement Collection Box as her Eagle Scout Project.

According to Troop 435 Leader Liz White, Macy “shared with the committee the passion behind her project which is ensuring proper respect for the American Flag and US Veterans.”

The box will be dedicated to veterans and placed near the Campbell County Courthouse.

Macy Kibler was the first female BSA Scout in Campbell County.

This is the beginning of the process, and her next step will be attending the upcoming Campbell County Commission meeting for the project to be voted on and approved.

Macy was the first female BSA Scout in Campbell County. In fact, when the first Female BSA Scout troop was started, number 435 was resurrected in honor of Macy Kibler, who is Rob Kibler’s daughter. Her grandpa Bob Kibler was a scout leader over that troop number and Rob was a scout under that number. Macy is now the third generation of Scouts to serve under the Troop 435 designation.

“This is such an exciting time for Troop 435 because Macy will be the first Eagle Scout with 435 and the first female Eagle Scout in Campbell County!” Troop Leader Liz White said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/14/2023-6AM)
