LPD takes quick action following Tuesday's overdoses

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - Multiple drug overdose calls prompted quick action by La Follette Police on Tuesday.  As a result, a La Follette woman is housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning after being arrested on drug charges.


Mullens retirement announced at La Follette workshop

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - After 13 ½ years as Public Works Director Jim Mullens has decided to retire. At last night’s City of LaFollette workshop Mayor Mike Stanfield read Mullens letter of retirement. Mullens told the council that he had struggled all weekend with the decision and had decided it was time. “I’m not responsible for anything but an old tom cat at this point in my life, and he’s pretty low maintenance, so it’s just time” said Mullens. He told the council he was willing to stay on until his replacement was hired and help them get settled into the position.


Citizen complaints prompt CCSD investigation

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - Citizen complaints sparked a months long investigation by the Campbell County Sheriff's Department leading to the execution of a narcotics search warrant on Tuesday.


The holiday's over. It's back to a one-lane town for La Follette.

Ray Sisson, the job supervisor for Monolith of Knoxville, points in the direction of where two  brick archways will be constructed.  He said, "They'll be brick lined like a tunnel."

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - To this day, Jason Prim carries three little memories of his Papaw P.J. Prim's Bakery with him.  He calls them "clips in his mind" of the once vibrant bakery that sat on North Tennessee Avenue near Aspen Street.

Caryville makes drug arrest on Knoxville man

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) - Caryville Police arrested a Knoxville man on drug charges on May 24 after he led Rocky Top officers on a high speed chase down the Interstate to the 134 exit.

Man traveling at a high rate of speed is stopped with spike strips

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - A LaFollette man was arrested on over a dozen charges, including evading arrest after leading authorities on a high speed chase Sunday. The deployment of spike strips by the Tennessee Highway Patrol brought the chase to an end. Two other LaFollette men were arrested as co-defendants.


Grand jury returns 20 indictments for May

Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission to meet Thursday and Friday

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) - The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission will vote to establish the state’s hunting and trapping regulations for 2020-21 and 2021-22 at its May 28-29 meeting.


No new COVID-19 cases in Campbell County. Tennessee up 358 from Monday.

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) - The number of COVD-19 cases in Campbell County continues to hold at 17, according to the Tuesday afternoon report with 16 patients having recovered from the virus.  Results from 1,316  COVID-19 tests in Campbell County have come back negative through Tuesday.  Currently there are no active COVID-19 cases, and there has been one death reported from COVID-19 in Campbell County.


Cedar Creek death still under investigation

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - Sunday evening, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to reports of a possible domestic altercation which included a person being struck by a pick-up truck in the Cedar Creek area.
