Not long after sunset Monday evening, the body of CCSO Crpl. Deputy Chance Pierce was escorted back home.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – It was an immense display of respect on Monday evening for late Campbell County Sheriff’s Crpl. Deputy Chance Pierce as fellow law enforcement officers provided an escort from the southern county line to Walters Funeral Home.

The 35-year- old Pierce, who rose from corrections officer to the patrol division, died suddenly while off duty on Friday night. “His work ethic and enthusiasm served him well as he was promoted to the rank of corporal earlier this year. Everybody loved him, and he will be missed,” said Campbell County Sheriff Robbie Goins. The sheriff said Pierce was “really good at cheering people up.”

Fellow law enforcement officers displayed their respect for Crpl. Deputy Chance Pierce.

Pierce began his career with the CCSO in the summer of 2018. He graduated from the Walters State Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy last July.

Co-workers shared the same sentiment about Pierce; he was well liked, was good to work with and touched many lives. It was said the father of two’s greatest desire was to make his children proud.

Date of Birth: July 30, 1985. End of Watch: November 13, 2020.
